Our vision
Inspiring / Outstanding / Caring
A better life, spread by kindness.
APNA Community is a non-profit set up to tackle loneliness and poor mental health among adults in Leicester, through weekly activity, wellbeing support and celebration together. All welcome.
Nobody sits at the edge of the room
Members lead singing, cook, welcome newcomers and choose what we do next.
Open five days, every week
Reliability is the service. Same room, same times, freshly cooked vegetarian food, transport included.
Someone notices when you don't arrive
We follow up, we visit, and we help members reach the services they are owed.
What we are working towards
A place open every weekday of the year, not just term time.
Wellbeing and mental health support that members can actually reach and understand.
Transport that reaches anyone in Leicester who cannot make their own way.
A trained volunteer team drawn from the community it serves.
Drive the minibus, serve lunch, lead an activity or simply sit and talk. A morning a week makes a difference.
Health teams, faith groups, schools and councils: bring a session to Manor House or refer someone to us.
Every donation goes to lunches, fuel for the minibus and the cost of keeping the doors open.
